The first season of the CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow had its ups and downs, but as far as I’m concerned, it really hit its stride after the first five episodes and began getting really good, telling fun, colorful, comic book stories with an engaging team of characters. It ended with a huge revelation and a renewed sense of purpose, which leads nicely into the second season, which answers the cliffhanger of Rex Tyler (Hourman) telling the team not to travel through time. Ohhh nooo…
Hourman signifies a cool new beginning in the showâwhich already saw roster shake-ups before the end of the yearâand the inclusion of the Justice Society of America. We also found out that, on top of Wentworth Miller being signed on to both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow and John Barrowman being a regular on those two shows AND Arrow, Neal McDonough will return to Legends as Damien Darhk. This explains why Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) is so peeved at him when they meet in the past. (Remember, Darhk did a bad thing to her family in Arrow season four).
The above trailer does a great job of setting up next season, which will see some time bandits start some shizzzz now that the Time Masters are gone, and that means all of time and space are in flux. It’s a good time to introduce some new heroes and start throwing around the weight of the whole Legends team. New team members, new threats (Nazis?!?!?), and new chances for Victor Garber to be frigging badass.
The new season begins October 13.
