LEGENDS OF TOMORROW JSA Pics, TWIN PEAKS Teaser, and More TV News

This is a safe space: This is where you can admit you spent all of Friday night on your couch bingeing Luke Cage in a single sitting. It’s OK! If you’re yawning through your morning thanks to recovery from your time in Harlem, maybe TV-Cap will help invigorate you. I have photos teasing the Justice Society of America in Legends of Tomorrow, a teaser for Twin Peaks, and much more.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Legends of Tomorrow’s second season arrives on October 13 and will see the Waverider crew go back in time and encounter the Justice Society of America (JSA). This is exciting, to say the least, and photos showing off our first looks at Stargirl, Hourman in costume, Doctor Mid-Nite, and more have me seriously pumped for the return of the time traveling series. Drop to the gallery below for more pics from “Out of Time.” [CBR, Images: The CW]

Lessons Learned. Margot Robbie hosted the most recent Saturday Night Live. She played a librarian in one of the skits, and when some students tried to flirt with her, she showed a side the students did not expect. Stay until the end of the video because it only gets weirder and weirder. [Nerdist]

What’s Next? Lucasfilm is working on continuing to expand the Star Wars universe in the animated format, but what should they tackle next? So far, both series they’ve done have taken place before the events of A New Hope. Eric suggests they should dive into post-Return of the Jedi territory and look at what Luke Skywalker’s doing and how he’s teaching students about the Force. Read his thoughts here at Nerdist.

No Purging Here. James DeMonaco, creator of The Purge film series, has said The Purge universe might not be limited to the big screen. He brought up the possibility when answering questions at CinemaBlend. DeMonaco said, “It’s so weird you bring that up. Yes! Not an anthology… I guess kind of an anthology—more of an interwoven anthology. They came to me about a TV show, my idea is that you do six or seven storylines. And I would kind of intercut them, use flashbacks.” If the series goes through, we’re still not going to see it anytime soon, but it’s something to look forward to if you’re a fan of the franchise. Musical Tease. I sometimes forget Showtime is bringing back Twin Peaks in 2017. Information on the continuation of the trippy series is sparse, and the latest tease comes in a roundabout format. The above video features composer Angelo Badalamenti playing “Laura Palmer’s Theme” alongside the iconic photo we all know and love—plus lots of trees. Take your speculation medicine and drop to the comments to tell me what you think it means. [Nerdist]

Two Endings. Okay, Archer and Aquarius fans, time for some un-fun news. NBC has canceled Aquarius, its show about the Charles Manson murders, after two seasons. And Archer, well, it’s going to end after seasons 10. Series creator Adam Reed dropped the news on the Murmur podcast. While it’s a bummer, 10 seasons is a nice, long run, and since season seven only recently aired, you have lots of Archer still ahead. [The Hollywood Reporter, Nerdist]

No Spoilers Here. As TV shows and the source material that inspires them get out of sync, fans sometimes worry if the on-screen version will spoil the comic book or novel they started with. That won’t happen with The Walking Dead. Series and comic creator Robert Kirkman stopped by AMC’s Geeking Out and said each version of the story will have different endings. You can hear it for yourself in the above clip. [Slashfilm]

Catching Up. Whew. The first weekend of October was busy in TV world, and in case you missed some shows or maybe didn’t get to watch them as closely as you wanted, I have recaps to bust through:

On a scale of one to 10, how jazzed are you about the JSA on Legends of Tomorrow? Let me know in the comments.
