Legendary John Carpenter to Perform First-Ever Live Show

John Carpenter is a jack of all trades, and I mean that in the very best sense. This guy has directed over twenty feature films, and somehow managed to release three studio albums and compose like, a million incredible soundtracks. Now, Carpenter is set to perform his music live for the first time at the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival (ATP) in Iceland. Fans, get ready for a very special show.

This musical retrospective will be comprised of selections from Carpenter’s debut album Lost Themes EP, scores from some of his movies such as Halloween, Christine and They Live, and new music as well. It’ll be a family affair, as Carpenter will be joined on stage by his son and godson.

All Tomorrow's Parties Festival

“We are incredibly honoured to present the first ever show by this legendary film-maker and composer,” said ATP’s Barry Horgan. “Having had the opportunity to present the maestro Ennio Morricone twice in recent years, it has been a burning ambition of ours to also present John Carpenter, who is both a pioneer and a huge influence on us and so many great musicians and film-makers that we work with. You’d be fucking crazy to miss this.”

And we agree! What better excuse to take a trip to Iceland? ATP will take place in Keflavík from July 1-3, 2016. Click here for tickets and more information.
