Learn How Your PC REALLY Fixes Itself in This Adorable Short

If it wasn’t for Chris Rock and Bill Murray, I would have no idea that the inside of my body was made up of cartoons (THANKS, Osmosis Jones!).

With the help of filmmaker Ariel Chan, we now have 100% proof that when we say “My computer has a bug,” we are being literal.

Bippy and the Bug is Chan’s graduation film from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It tells the story of Bippy, a small robot who lives inside a young boy’s computer and is in charge of fixing anything that might go wrong. When the boy’s PC is attacked by a “bug,” it is up to Bippy to defend it and restore order.

I think the video is very cute. My only critique is that during the battle between Bippy and the bug, Bippy is bitten on the arm. While our hero is able to recover from the bite, no super powers were gained. Then again, does EVERYTHING have to have a tie-in to Marvel? While I wouldn’t mind personally, there is definitely room for debate. [Editor’s Note: It’s already a microscopic defense robot…that not superpower enough?]

The video was created using ToonBoom, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Premier. If you would like to see more of Ariel Chan’s videos, you can check out her VIMEO channel here.

What did you think of the video? Did you know that your PC had a fly swatter pre-installed? What other “insides” would you like to delve into next? Let me know on Twitter or in the comments below.
