New MORTAL KOMBAT X Trailer Reveals Liu Kang and Brutal New Gameplay

Well look what we have here. Considering the fact that we’ve been seeing Mortal Kombat Xrelated reveals at least once a week for the past month or so, it comes as no surprise that another video has been released. The video comes courtesy of Maxim Russia–don’t worry it’s voiced in English–and Warner Bros. who teamed up to release a trailer featuring Kung Lao, his descendant/series newcomer Kung Jin, and last but not least, Liu Kang. Yes, he’s back, and yes he still wants you to show him what you can do.

The full video description states, “Today, MAXIM & Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the Mortal Kombat X Official Shaolin Trailer, which puts the spotlight on three characters: Sharp-witted Kung Lao, series newcomer Kung Jin, and Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatant Liu Kang. The trailer provides further insight into Mortal Kombat X’s story, revealing that Raiden’s champions of Earthrealm from the past have risen from the dead, under the control of the sinister former Elder God, Shinnok.”

Oooh sounds exciting, doesn’t it? At the beginning of the video, Raiden reveals how he regrets losing Kombatants Kung Lao and Liu Kang to NetherRealm’s evil. They were like sons to him and now they’ve been brought back from the dead by Shinnok (note their glowing eyes). Next we see Sub-Zero taunting our new heroes of EarthRealm — Cassie Cage, Kung Jin, Jacqueline Briggs, and Takashi Takeda. It will definitely be nice to have original Kombatant Liu Kang back. His fatality, which was shown off in the video, looks especially brutal.

Mortal Kombat X is set to release April 14, 2015 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions not releasing until this summer.
