LA Weekly Features NerdMelt In “Best Of L.A. 2011”

How cool is this? In the annual “Best of L.A.” issue of LA Weekly that hits racks around town tomorrow (at least, that’s when the paper makes its way to my neighborhood), the winner in the category of “Best Place to Get Your Geek On — 2011” is none other than Nerdist Theater at Meltdown Comics, better known as NerdMelt.

Writer Sophia Kercher notes NerdMelt’s eclectic offerings and inclusive atmosphere and adds a story about the weekly MeltDown comedy show hosted by “irreverent boozers Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani.” I’m not sure if she means they’re irreverent towards their boozing or irreverent in general and also boozers. But it’s a nice writeup, a great testament to the skills and vision of Emily V. Gordon, Chris Hardwick, and Gaston Dominguez-Letelier, and you can see the article here.

Oh, and if you live in the Los Angeles area or plan to visit, it’s at 7522 Sunset Blvd., and it’s hard to miss. You can find out what’s coming up in Emily’s weekly post on Fridays here on this site or at NerdMeltLA.com.

Good job, Nerdist et al! Nerdists? Nerdistlings? Whatever! Also Gaston (thanks!).
