Kid Violinists Played STAR WARS Music With Lightsaber Bows

What could be more glorious than children dressed up in Jedi robes? How about little Jedi playing music from the Star Wars soundtrack? Oh and by the way, they’ll be using lightsabers as their instrument bows. Adorabomb.

YouTuber Matthieu Pierrot breaks down 11 segments of this performance of these talented kids from the École de l’Harmonie St Édouard and École La Seigneurie schools in Quebec. The orchestra plays beautiful renditions of the Star Wars Theme, “Han Solo and the Princess” from Empire Strikes Back, and my favorite, “Cantina Band.”

This performance was prior to a showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the Cineplex Odeon Beauport in Quebec City, only made lovelier by seeing the padawans dressed up in Jedi robes and attire. The glowing lightsaber bows were made with LEDs and built by their violin teacher, Philippe Amyot. It’s such a simple concept, you wonder why all string instruments don’t use bowsabers?

The kids performed these songs just one week after a four-alarm fire burned through their school. It’s nice to see the show go on and the kids rally for their performance just like real Jedi-in training.

At one point during the “Imperial March,” stormtroopers and Vader himself show up. The mini-musicians don’t even flinch but they do give him the side-eye. Always stay on your toes, padawan.

Among the many Jedi you’ll also spy a little Rey and and Amidala. By the way, the kid in the front with the Yoda mask is killing it.
