Behind every Bruce Wayne, there’s an Alfred Pennyworth dropping some motivational knowledge when needed. Hypothetically speaking, what if their roles changed? Would Alfred have the fortitude to face Gotham’s worst criminals?
Wonder no more, YouTube channel Batman Arkham Videos posted some footage of the Play as Alfred mod that allows players to roam Gotham’s streets in Batman: Arkham Knight as Mr. Pennyworth himself. As strange as it may seem, watching a dapper man bring the pain is a whole lot of fun.
Warning, the video below features many SPOILERS from the campaign and side quests, so proceed with caution.
According to the mod’s creator, the movements are extremely limited. The butler can’t perform counter-attacks, environmental takedowns, or dual takedowns. Still, kicking butt with this iconic character looks like a blast. Duking it out as this famous butler is actually not farfetched, as one of the iterations on the character is actually an ex-Royal Marine. There are even indications that the Arkham version of this character has some military background.
Yes, Batman: Arkham Knight is still broken on PC, but at least there’s something to look forward to. Players on the home consoles only get to mess around with the Batman suit alternatives provided by Rocksteady. Plus, Warner Bros. has recently outlined their plans to get the port into better shape, so hopefully the game will be ready soon.
