Harley Quinn’s Bat from SUICIDE SQUAD Just Became the Best Gift Ever

Kevin Smith is a polarizing filmmaker. The passion people have in their love (or hatred) of his movies is nothing less than astounding. But no one can deny the level of heart Kevin has for the things he loves. (Check out Dan Casey’s Sundance interview with him if you need video proof.) And on Saturday morning, Kevin showed his heart is just a little bit bigger than we thought, gifting his daughter Harley Quinn Smith—yes, named after THAT Harley Quinn—a present she won’t soon forget: Margot Robbie’s bat from the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.

And, because this is 2016, he posted all about it on Facebook:

Harley Quinn

Warner Brothers gave Smith the bat as a present for hosting the Dawn of Justice special on the CW a few weeks ago. Normally, regifting is frowned upon, but I am pretty sure Geoff Johns and crew would be happy to know that Harley Quinn’s bat went to another Harley Quinn. Smith gave Harley the bat right before they left for Sundance to promote his latest film, Yoga Hosers, that he directed and stars Harley. He described the bat to her as a totem and tried to describe what that meant. From the picture, I don’t think she heard him through the happy tears. Margot Robbie will be happy to know her bat found a loving home.

So what do you think? Is Kevin Smith on the ballot for “Dad of the Year?” What other swag could Harley possibly want after this? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
