Watch Justin Roiland Get Method Drunk for a RICK AND MORTY Season 3 Episode

Last month, fans got an early look at Rick and Morty‘s next set of adventures during the surprise debut of the third season premiere. Apparently, that’s just the beginning of this season’s insanity, according to a new video from Adult Swim’s facebook page. As Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon explained in the clip, “Rick is a very high-functioning alcoholic. In episode 304, we need to see him get especially drunk, so I encouraged Justin [Roiland] to method act.”

Via Uproxx, Roiland not only took Harmon’s advice, he went even further by taking tequila shots in the recording booth. Associate producer Sydney Ryan warned Harmon against drinking tequila, before noting that “liquor just adds a whole new aspect to Justin.” Fair warning: some of Roiland’s comments are very NSFW, but they’re also very funny!

According to Ryan, “this was by far the least productive and messiest record day we’ve ever had…So, thanks a lot, Harmon.” The video doesn’t offer too many details about the episode itself, but it does give us a few glimpses of epic drunk Rick. Considering that we’ve seen Rick go on a bender that nearly brought down his ex, Unity, it’s almost scary to think of what it will be like to see Rick approach his limit. How drunk can Rick really get?

We’ll have to wait to get some answers. Adult Swim hasn’t yet set a date for Rick and Morty season 3.

What do you think will get Rick so drunk in the fourth episode of the new season? Share your theories in the comment section below!
