RICK AND MORTY Gets a FRIENDS Style Opening Sequence

RICK AND MORTY Gets a FRIENDS Style Opening Sequence

In the YouTube era, it’s become a rite of passage for TV shows and movies to mashed together with the opening theme of Friends. There’s just something so catchy about The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There For You” and its uncanny ability to go with anything. Now, at long last, the Friends theme has been set to one of our favorite animated series, Rick and Morty!

YouTube user DandyDani created the new Rixty Minutes”/Friends mash up that is populated by Ricks…so many Ricks. As fans of the show know, the Rick and Morty multiverse has a nearly infinite amount of the title character, almost all of whom are collectively known as the Council of Ricks. However, the recent third season premiere definitely decimated their ranks, and there may be a lot fewer Ricks in the future.

There is one cheat in the video, as the old man known as Roy isn’t even a character on the show. Instead, he’s the star of an immersive video game in an alien arcade. Birdperson and Tammy also make appearances, and we’re calling it now: they’re gonna be the Ross and Rachel of this show! Sure, Tammy may have murdered Birdperson in a bid to capture Rick and his allies, but what relationship doesn’t have its ups and downs? Plus, she seemingly had Birdperson resurrected, so it’s all good.

Rick and Morty How Many Ricks

As for Morty, the video does compile a few hilarious moments at his expense, but he never gets his full due. In fact, only one of the Mortys gets a screen credit, and even then he’s simply called “Saul Goodman, Attorney at Law.” That said, we do love a good Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul reference.
