JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM Featurette Brings Back Jeff Goldblum in New Footage!

Universal Pictures has been teasing this week’s release of the first full Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer with small glimpses of what’s to come, but today they surprised us with a more in-depth look at what to expect from the film. This explosive featurette is loaded with tons of new footage and insights into the movie, and also features our first look at the return of one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, Jeff Goldblum‘s Dr. Ian Malcolm.

This behind-the-scenes video, with commentary from the cast and crew, including director J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls), promises we will see “more dinosaurs” than ever before, many of which will come to life with practical effects (yes!). There’s tons of footage from the movie itself here, with new characters like yet another small child who will find themselves in harm’s way (because it wouldn’t be a Jurassic Park movie with at least one kid running away from a killer dino), as well D.B. Wong’s nefarious Dr. Henry Wu.

But as you probably can guess, we’re geeking out over the first new footage of Jeff Goldblum’s return as Dr. Ian Malcom, who is shown at some kind of hearing, bewilderedly delivering the meta line, “Here I am talking about dinosaurs again.”

The first full trailer releases Thursday night, but this featurette, with lots of dinosaurs, practical effects, explosions, and Jeff Goldblum, is a pretty good way to get us excited in the meantime.

What do you think of this new footage? What stood out to you the most? Tell us in the comments below.
