JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM’s First Teaser Unleashes a Dino Stampede

After everything we’ve seen from the franchise so far, how can Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom possibly find new way to shock and scare moviegoers who know at some point dinosaurs are going to start eating all the people? Apparently, with a volcanic eruption that sets the entire island on fire, causing a massive dino stampede.

In the first action-packed teaser for the Jurassic World sequel, Chris Pratt‘s Owen Grady emerges from a wall of flames, insisting with a scream that Bryce Dallas Howard‘s Claire Dearling (who is not wearing heels) and newcomer Justice Smith get the heck out of dodge. That’s when dinosaurs of all sizes come out of the fire to flee the erupting volcano.

Thinking logically, you probably don’t want to find yourself on an island when a volcano erupts. But the good news is it seems to be a bad enough situation that even dinosaurs won’t stop to make you their lunch.

There’s not enough here to know how or why the volcano might have erupted. Could it be a natural phenomenon, or a government plot to destroy the dangerous dinos once and for all? But either way, for a franchise on its fifth film, it’s certainly a way to up the stakes.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom comes screaming into theaters next summer on June 22, 2018. What do you make of this first look? Does it seem like the franchise is raising the stakes to a whole new frightening level? Do you plan to “run” to the theater to see it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
