JURASSIC PARK Heads Back to Theaters for 25th Anniversary

In 1993, director Steven Spielberg‘s Jurassic Park brought Michael Crichton’s landmark novel to life with its groundbreaking depiction of CGI and animatronic dinosaurs that are still impressive over two decades later. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released earlier this year, and the franchise is more popular than ever. But in just a few weeks, the original Jurassic Park will return to movie theaters for three nights and give fans a chance to revisit the cinema classic on the big screen.

On Sunday, September 16, Fathom Events will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park by bringing the film to 500 theaters across North America. And as a bonus feature, Fathom Events will also screen a 17-minute fan remake of the original movie that gave would-be filmmakers a chance to recreate memorable scenes on much smaller budgets. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director J. A. Bayona filmed an introduction that remake earlier this year, which you can watch here.

Encore presentations of Jurassic Park will be screened on Tuesday, September 18 and Wednesday, September 19. Tickets are now on sale at Fathom Events’ official site, and there are also listings for the participating theaters. It’s unclear if any of the actors or the creative team have filmed any new interviews with Fathom for this occasion, but it’s definitely something that we’re hoping to see.
