It’s been a busy week for film news, with teases and first looks almost every day, but on this chilly Thursday morning we got one of the most exciting and unexpected reveals from Entertainment Weekly with the first photos and plot synopsis about Jordan Peele’s new horror offering Us.

The two images are truly chilling and show Lupita Nyong’o’s character looking very final-girl-ish, wielding what looks like an icepick. The second photo shows Nyong’o and her costar Winston Duke with their two children wearing red robes and standing solemnly in the dark.
These images get even creepier when you read the official description of the film. “The story is set in the present day and follows Adelaide and Gabe Wilson (Lupita Nyongâo and Winston Duke) as they take their kids to Adelaideâs old childhood beachside home in Northern California for the summer. After a day at the beach with the Tyler family (which includes Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker), Adelaide â whoâs haunted by a lingering trauma from her past â becomes increasingly more paranoid that something bad will happen to her family. As night falls, the Wilsons see four figures holding hands and standing silently at the bottom of their driveway⦔
From what we can see it looks like the four figures holding hands at the bottom of the driveway are Duke, Nyong’o and their children! So something rotten is obviously afoot in Peele’s new flick and we cannot wait to see more when the trailer drops on Christmas Day.
