Could Power Girl Be Showing Up On THE FLASH?

The recent crossover between CBS’s Supergirl and CW’s The Flash was the stuff DC Comics fan’s dreams are made of, filled with references to the Multiverse, super villain team-ups, and featuring the two title characters actually racing each other. Coming days after the premiere of Batman v Superman, it was also the antidote to that film’s dark tone in a way, as it showed Supergirl and Flash becoming fast friends (pun intended), fighting crime together, eating ice cream, and then hugging it out.

It was also one of the more highly rated episodes of Supergirl, so of course the question every fan has now is “when is the next crossover?? And will Melissa Benoist show up on Flash this time?” A fan got to pose that question recently to Flash/Supergirl producer Andrew Kreisberg (via EW) asking about the possibility of a version of Kara Zor-El living on Earth-1 (that’s Flash’s Earth, by the way) so the character could show up on his show this time. Kreisberg responded with this:

“Any Kara that exists on Earth 1 would also have to have been an alien. It can’t just be Kara Danvers from Poughkeepsie. If she becomes a hero on that world, though, she might have a different costume.”

Of course, comics fans know there is already another famous version of Kara Zor-El in the DCU, who lives on an alternate Earth and has a different costume and code-name: Power Girl. For those of you out there less versed in the comics lore, Power Girl is the slightly older, sassier version of Supergirl, possibly most famous (or infamous) for her costume’s “boob window”, which has no purpose except to expose her Kryptonian cleavage. While I would be surprised to see actress Melissa Benoist sign off on that particular aspect of the character, there have been plenty of versions of PG’s costume which don’t include the boob window, so it’s not like it’s a requirement. There is more to PG that just that, guys.

Kriesberg’s comments are hardly a confirmation that Power Girl is coming to The Flash, but it shows that they are all at least entertaining the idea. It would also create any easy way to have crossovers of a sort without having to break the multiversal barrier every single time.

What do you think of the possibility of Power Girl showing up in the DC Television Multiverse? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
