John Cleese’s MONTY PYTHON Character Anne Elk Returns with a New (Ahem) Theory

We have a theory. A new theory. And it is ours—the theory, that is. It is our theory and it is new. And here it is—the new theory, which is ours: John Cleese‘s YouTube channel is quickly going to become one of our favorite stops on the internet. We are pretty confident in saying that after seeing his latest video, where he brought back an old Monty Python character, Ms. Anne Elk, to tell us all about her new theory.

The hair on her head may be quite a bit shorter these days, and the hair on her face a lot longer, but she still has all the same troubles with getting her throat cleared and with getting to the point as she ever did. As for her theory, much like with her original one on brontosauruses, she is obviously not wrong… but somehow, it doesn’t feel like she deserves all that much credit for being right either.

Either way, someone please get her a lozenge.

We came across this latest video from Cleese at Vulture, and if you don’t remember Anne Elk’s one-time appearance on Monty Python’s Flying Circus you can watch it here.

We really get a kick out of the fact that Cleese’s new videos are somehow lower in quality than the old Monty Python episodes.

What other old John Cleese character from Monty Python would you like to see him bring back on his YouTube channel? We (ahem) want to (ahooo) hear your theories in our comments section below on what characters would (HOOOOOOO) be the best ones to bring back.
