James Corden Tackles History of Sports Movies with Anna Kendrick, Zac Efron, Adam Devine

Whether you’re a die-hard sports fan or you annoy your Facebook friends with posts about “sportsball,” it’s likely you’ve seen a bunch of sports movies. In fact, you probably got into a discussion about them during the Super Bowl yesterday. Well, you had to do something to distract yourself from all the penalties that happened during the game.( Seriously, what the hell was going on there?) In case you need help remembering all the ways sports have been celebrated on the big screen over the years, though, The Late Late Show With James Corden is here with the assist.

Corden enlisted the help of stars Anna Kendrick, Adam Devine and Zac Efron to act out the big moments from the best sports films of the past few decades including The Karate Kid, Field of Dreams, Varsity Blues, Chariots of Fire, and Space Jam. Yeah, I said Space Jam.

I can’t imagine the amount of rehearsal that went into this piece—there were a ton of costume changes, wigs, and some amazing moments, including James Cordon in a whipped cream bra. He also tried to swallow a raw egg during the Rocky sequence while Anna Kendrick yelled “Adrian” (it was kind of perfect). But Zac Efron’s Al Pacino impression during the Any Given Sunday scene was, perhaps, the most priceless. He even threw in a “hoo-ah,” which, wrong movie, but awesome nonetheless. He even managed a High School Musical moment in there (because BALL IS LIFE, never forget).

So, what is your favorite sports movie of all time? Tweet me/us @JennaBusch/@Nerdist and tell us your all-time favorites. Mine is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. What? Quidditch is totally a sport! They play it at cons! I’ll see myself out.
