We all know the Force is strong in Mark Hamill. But could it possibly be strong enough to see him do what no actor has ever done before with a Star Wars movie, and win an Oscar his performance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi? J.J. Abrams sure thinks so, and in today’s Movie Morsels he sounds off on just how good he thinks Hamill is. Plus, we’ve got a new red band clip from James Gunn’s The Belko Experiment, the latest poster for The Fate of the Furious, and lots more!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
While attending last week’s Oscar Wilde Awards in L.A. (held in honor of the United States’ relationship with Ireland), filmmaker J.J. Abrams heaped the highest praise possible on actor Mark Hamill’s performance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
âI think we are all going to be very upset,” said Abrams, “if he does not win an Oscar, and no one more upset than Mark.”
Abrams’ comments were in part a response to a tweet that Hamill had made earlier last week…

âHe is hysterically funny,â added Abrams. âHe has done comedy. He is an amazing guy — he can do anything.â
The Belko Experiment
Hot on the heels of the latest Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer arriving last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, we’ve got a red band clip from a very different James Gunn film, The Belko Experiment. Just how intense will this movie be? The following video gives us a pretty good idea…

Trolls 2
Back when Smurfs 2 was released, comedian Patton Oswalt famously tweeted…
I feel like the working title for SMURFS 2 was OH GODDAMIT.
â Patton Oswalt (@pattonoswalt) August 1, 2013
…which makes me wonder what the funnyman will come up with for Trolls 2, since, as confirmed by Universal, that is now a thing that is most definitely going to happen. Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick will return to their paychecks–er, roles–Branch and Poppy, though director Mike Mitchell will be too busy helming The LEGO Movie sequel to return for this April 10, 2020 release. A replacement director has not yet been announced… Ah well, at least the original scored a “Best Song” Oscar nom for J.T.’s “Canât Stop the Feeling!â, apparently 2016’s most downloaded music track.

The Fate of the Furious
It looks like something has come between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson’s characters in the latest Fate of the Furious poster, and I’m not just talking about a lot of negative white space. Does Charlize Theron’s new villain have something to do with it?
