It’s New Book Day… Again!

Ahhh, another glorious Tuesday! By now, you know what that means: NEW BOOKS! HOORAY! If the millions of books already out in the world today don’t tickle your fancy well… maybe one of these will. Or maybe not. Don’t be so damn picky!

I suppose Tuesday new releases is a little misleading, actually. James Patterson released a new novel yesterday, which is not TECHNICALLY a Tuesday and okay — maybe not ALL books come out on Tuesdays. But a lot do! Just not this one. So, we’ll start with it!

Private by James Patterson
The police can’t help you

Former Marine helicopter pilot Jack Morgan runs Private, a renowned investigation company with branches around the globe. It is where you go when you need maximum force and maximum discretion. The secrets of the most influential men and women on the planet come to Jack daily–and his staff of investigators uses the world’s most advanced forensic tools to make and break their cases. The press will destroy you Jack is already deep into the investigation of a multi-million dollar NFL gambling scandal and the unsolved slayings of 18 schoolgirls when he learns of a horrific murder close to home: his best friend’s wife, Jack’s former lover, has been killed. It nearly pushes him over the edge. Instead, Jack pushes back and devotes all of Private’s resources to tracking down her killer. Only one place to turn: Private But Jack doesn’t have to play by the rules. As he closes in on the killer and chooses between revenge and justice, Morgan has to navigate a workplace love affair that threatens to blow the roof off his plans. With a plot that moves at death-defying speeds,Private is James Patterson sleekest, most exciting thriller ever.

  1. I do not know of the Batman-ness of Arkham Asylum, sadly.

Also, just so it’s clear, I’m not really endorsing these books as awesome or terrible reads. I’m simply bringing their existence to your attentions.

Now on FRIDAY, that’s a different story. That’s always a book I’ve actually read and feel like sharing.

  2. Hurricane Ditka says:

Recommend a good book, preferably non-fiction, for someone with an incredibly short attention span!

I normally read a quarter or halfway through a book in no time at all, then put it down cuz I get bored with it. I can’t even remember the last time I finished a book…… It sadly was probably the DaVinci Code; just because I wanted to know what the movie was going to be like. Since then I’ve started:
    Lost City of Z
Stephen Colbert: I am America and so can you
    The last Templar
    Kitchen Confidential
And some others that quickly’er lost my interest.

  3. Anna says:

Thanks for these! FYI, the Amazon links don’t work…

  4. Shane says:

So does Arkham Asylum have Batman in it or is it just about the inmates?
