It’s An NES… Nope, It’s A STEAM MACHINE

And now for your bad ass finding of the week: We all know that Steam Machines are facing an uphill battle in proving their relevance to the living-room space as they hit the market. So what better way to do that than to take the form of one of the most identifiable living room consoles to ever exist, right? Well imgur user and hardware customization aficionado gust4vsson got the bright idea to make this happen, and posted these awesome photos of his NES-themed Steam Machine.

Everything from the cleverly placed USB ports that rest inside the NES controller slots to the compact and nearly bite-sized motherboard is very impressive. It’s not too bad spec-wise either: This bad boy is pushing an AMD A10-6700 APU with an integrated Radeon 8670D GPU. Gust4vsson noted that his setup can run most new games, but primarily on lower settings. Either way, you have to admit that this would be pretty awesome to have sitting in your entertainment space.

Nintendo, you may want to pay attention to this guy, I think he may be onto something.

Please do the target=_blank as slideshows are such a pain, I (and a lot of people I know) refuse to look at them. I get enough repetitive stress from CG work! 🙂

Love this site, but you gotta get a slideshow setup on these multi-image posts or at least target=_blank.

    That NES/Steam hybrid is awesome.
