IT’S ALWAYS IN SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA Renewed for Seasons 13 and 14

How much cheese is too much cheese? Any amount of cheese before a date is too much cheese. How many episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is too many episodes? The answer is none, and it looks like the network agrees.

It’s been sunny, and very drunk, in Philadelphia for 11 seasons already, and today FXX announced that the gang has been renewed for two additional seasons, which will see Paddy’s Pub open up for seasons 13 and 14.

In a press release announcing the news today, FXX highlighted that the 14th season will bring the show into a tie with The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as “the longest-running live-action comedy” in the history of television. That’s a lot of beer and yelling.

The show first premiered on August 4, 2005, which is a hell of a long time to still be producing a funny sitcom. Danny Devito hasn’t even been on the show that long. Make no mistake though, It’s Always Sunny is still great, with this last season being one of the strongest the show has ever done. Where else can you see a man catch a “leprechaun” with a massive glue trap? I mean, Frank raising his flag during Chardee MacDennis might be a top 5 laugh out loud moment in the entire history of the show.

Next season, the show’s 12th, is expected to premiere sometime in early 2017.

What’s your favorite episode or moment in the long history of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Get out your toe knife while you think about it and then tell us in the comments below.
