It’s All About Power in Fox’s New Extended Trailer for GOTHAM

Since its premiere last fall, there have been things to love about Fox’s Batman prequel/Jim Gordon origin story series, Gotham, and there have been things not to love. However, it does feel like whenever the focus is on Jim, the stories are usually entertaining. That’s why this new extended look at the next episode, titled “What the Little Bird Told Him,” has us rather hopeful of things to come:

Brewing gang wars, electrocutioners, new loves, it certainly does seem like the next episode of Gotham has a little bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. So, with any luck, the writers have taken some of the show’s criticism to heart and applied it into what will be a fantastic run of episodes leading up to the season finale later this year.

At the moment, the show’s ratings are tracking well enough to warrant a second season renewal by Fox – who will be heavily courted by producing studio Warner Bros. to do so given the studio already has a lucrative digital syndication deal in place with Netflix – so right now it all comes down to story. Gotham still has a lot to prove over its sister DC small screen shows in Arrow and Flash, but if television teaches us anything, it’s that it’s when projects have their backs against the wall that they tend to surprise us the most.

Gotham returns this Monday at 8/7c on Fox.
