Interview: DAREDEVIL Stars Charlie Cox & Rosario Dawson on Season 1

Tonight when the clock strikes midnight, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting even bigger as Daredevil arrives on Netflix. The thirteen-episode series marks the first of four interconnected series Marvel is bringing to the streaming platform, and it’s an auspicious debut as the House of Ideas tries its hand at making something for a more mature audience. Starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Daredevil takes us inside the early days of the blind attorney’s rise from masked vigilante to the Man Without Fear — and just like Battlin’ Jack Murdock, the series doesn’t pull any punches. More of a gritty, atmospheric crime drama than a straightforward superhero story, Daredevil delivers bone-crunching action, complex character development, and a definite sense of heart and humor. In short, it should wash away any bitter tastes that might be lingering after Ben Affleck donned the suit in 2003.

Recently, I caught up with two of the stars of the series, Charlie Cox and Rosario Dawson (who plays Claire/Night Nurse), to pick their brains about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making a superhero series for a slightly older audience, and much more.
