Insomniac Games Is Working on A SPIDER-MAN Game

As if Sony didn’t have enough surprises up their sleeves at tonight’s press conference, the publisher revealed a brand new Spider-Man title from Insomniac Games and Marvel. Though the teaser trailer didn’t reveal too much information, we definitely got a good glimpse of the sort of action we can expect from the title with the web-slinging hero swinging around the city, and even jumping into a diner. For a taste of the action, check out the clip above.

Again, there’s not enough information available regarding the title yet, but Sony did push #SpiderManPS4, which suggests it might actually be a PlayStation exclusive. Insomniac and Sony do have a history together, as the developer had a long time partnership with Sony when they worked on the Ratchet & Clank games. We also have no idea what the launch window is going to be, but I guess we can all rest easy that it’s at least in production.

Even though we know very little about this title, I think there’s plenty of reason to be optimistic. Insomniac Games has worked on Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive which both emphasize speed and mobility–both ideal for a Spider-Man game. I’m also hoping this new Spidey isn’t Peter Parker, but I’m not holding my breath.

What do you expect from this title? Could this finally be the Spider-Man game we’ve wanted? Is Insomniac Games the right team to take on this venture? Let us know what you think in the comments below, or reach out to me on Twitter: @Collegescrubz!
