Hufflepuffs Get Their Very Own HARRY POTTER Story at Last

Sure, Harry Potter is the Boy Who Lived, but did you ever stop to think about all the other kids at Hogwarts who frankly were just trying to survive and get a gosh darn education? That’s right! There are more students at Hogwarts than our favorite three Gryffindors, and Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is here to tell their tale.

The new play follows Hufflepuff hero Wayne Hopkins and his House mates as they navigate learning spells, attending Quidditch matches, and generally wondering what the next feast will bring to the table. Trouble is, Harry Potter and his pals, allies, and enemies keep getting themselves–and the inhabitants of Hogwarts–into trouble! And though there’s no indication that Harry Potter makes any actual appearances in the play, his presence is obviously felt throughout. Plus, there are a few side characters you’ll recognize from the books, (RIP Cedric Diggory) and you might just find yourself rereading the books and thinking about things from the other students’ perspectives.

Matthew Cox, the writer of Puff, told Mashable, “The thing that was really appealing to me was all of these events that take place in the [Harry Potter] books would be very traumatizing to all the other kids at the school and we never really get to see the other children’s reactions… That would be terrifying if things just kept getting worse and worse every year!”

You can catch live performances of Puffs at the Elektra Theater in New York City, but if you can’t apparate quite yet, you can also get a sneak peek at this delightful spoof in our gallery below.

With the upcoming five-film Harry Potter prequel series kicking off with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in just a few weeks, The Cursed Child play now open in London, and this new fan-made spinoff in New York City, we are drowning in J.K. Rowling-inspired riches! But what other stories would you like to see told? Let us know in the comments!
