I prefer my superheroes to make sense (obviously). I don’t want to leave my brain at the door when I’m seeing Thor fly around or Tony Stark building an arc reactor. So you’d think that Marvel’s latest, Ant-Man, might be the line for me. Actually, no: there’s much more physics here than meets the eye.

In my latest Because Science, I’m going through what seems to me to be the most sensible explanation for Ant-Man’s amazing suit, consulted on by quantum mathematician and friend Spyridon Michalakis. The suit is basically Scott Lang’s personal pokeball!
