In just under three months, comic book movie fans will be introduced to Benedict Cumberbatchâs Doctor Strange, the newest hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Of course, that means that new Doctor Strange statues and figures are coming with the film, and Hot Toys may have the best one yet!
During the Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2016 festival, Hot Toys offered fans an advance look at the prototype for its upcoming 1/6 scale Doctor Strange collectible figure, which uses Cumberbatchâs likeness and the costume he wears in the movie.
It should be noted that Cumberbatchâs Doctor Strange costume isnât an exact replica of his comic book counterpart, but itâs pretty close! This figure comes with Strangeâs Cloak of Levitation, the Eye of Agamotto, and a book of magic spells. But is it the Darkhold or a more benevolent grimoire?
Hot Toys didnât reveal the release date or the pricing information for this figure, but itâs probably a safe bet that it will not be cheap. Hot Toys tends to deal with high end collectibles, but you really do get what you pay for, and this looks like an amazing recreation.
Thereâs no word yet on whether Doctor Strange will be the only Hot Toys collectible figure from the new film, but we think that Chiwetel Ejioforâs Baron Mordo and Mads Mikkelsenâs Kaecilius would be great choices. Perhaps even Tilda Swintonâs Ancient One can get in on the fun. We’d also really love to see the Dread Dormammu figure from the eventual sequel to this film. Make it happen, Hot Toys!
