HORROR HAPPENINGS: Nerdist Conival Filled with Horror Happenings, Lifetime Remaking THE BAD SEED

Happy Sunday, horror friends! Welcome back to Horror Happenings. As San Diego Comic-Con approaches, today we’re telling you all of the spooky offerings Nerdist will be hosting throughout the con and some incredible remake news courtesy of Lifetime (yes, really!). Let’s get to it!

Nerdist #CONIVAL Offers Lots of Horror Happenings

Next week is San Diego Comic-Con and Nerdist will be headed down in full force. We’ve taken over all of Petco Park this year alongside our sister companies Geek Sundry and Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls. In addition to fun, Laser Tag, and awesome giveaways, we’ll be hosting some awesome horror-related conversations on our Petco stages. I’ll be on hand to interview Eli Roth for The Green Inferno and M. Night Shyamalan on Thursday and the team behind Nerdist Presents The Hive on Friday, in addition to welcoming the cast of Ash vs Evil Dead, Daniel Radcliffe on behalf of the upcoming Victor Frankenstein.

You can find a complete list of our interviews at Petco Park and Nerdist-sponsored panels right here. Be sure to come by and say hello and get the scoop on all of the SDCC Horror Happenings!

Lifetime Remaking The Bad Seed As Next TV Movie

File this under “Completely Perfect” — this week it was announced that Lifetime would be remaking The Bad Seed. For those who don’t know, The Bad Seed centers around the story of a mother whose young daughter happens to be a smart, scary, manipulative little murderer! Melodramatic and crazy in all of the right ways, the original film adaptation of William March’s novel of the same name scored three Academy Award nominations for its main cast. Lifetime has been interested in getting into the horror game for a while now with the network being the original home for Glen Mazzara’s sequel series to Richard Donner’s horror classic The Omen, Damien. However, Damien has since moved over to A&E, Lifetime’s sister network, presumably to join Bates Motel in 2016. Barbara Marshall will write the script for the television adaptation. Set your DVR’s right now!

Will you be joining us in San Diego for the Nerdist Conival? What are you most excited about checking out? Tell us in the comments!
