It seems like we were just talking about Comic-Con planning and now it’s already come and gone. Last week was a blast with huge announcements, great cosplay, fantastic comics, and even our very own Camp Conival!
If you could manage the throngs on the show floor you’d see that the spirit of the con was strong, and after a crazy week it’s the memories that keep you coming back for more year after year. Here are just a few of our favorite fun finds at this year’s SDCC.
Zootopia Puppet by Jamie Bressler
When I saw this Zootopia puppet on the con floor I stopped in my tracks. Cosplay is found far and wide but a handmade puppet is a bit of a rarity. This beautiful design seemingly brings the animated Bellwether to life in the real world, allowing her to interact with other con-goers on the show floor. So fluffy…
Ghostbusters Ice Cream Pin by The Beast Is Back
You think you canât improve on the iconic Ghostbusters logoâuntil you see it as ice cream. Enamel pins are hot right now and The Beast is Back created this special SDCC exclusive that quickly sold out. This just makes me wants Ghostbusters soft serve to be a reality.
Women of Marvel Plates from Underground Toys
Itâs not often you find Silk merchandiseâfor which Iâm always on the lookoutâand even more rare to see a collection of four women heroes all together. Captain Marvel, Silk, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Woman are all represented on this dishware. These melamine plates are durable and ready to use in the kitchen, but for any Marvel heroine fan theyâd make great artwork hung on the wall.
Spoiled Milk Pin by Gemma Correll
With all the big names on the show floor, it’s easy to overlook the indie press doing their own thing. Gemma Correll has a huge Instagram following for good reason, her adorable drawings hit close to home in the most hilarious of ways and often include pugs just for good measure. This spoiled milk pin is a funny gag and a good gift for parents.
Indiana Jones and Boulder Cosplay
Cosplayers came strong at SDCC and not always in the traditional sense. Fun takes on classic characters is what gets you stopped on the show floor. This Indiana Jones would be great on his own but with a boulder sidekick and the chase pose? These two won Comic-Con.
