Everyone gather, for news I’ll tell you. Our friend, Dr. Seuss, has a book that is new. Now likely you’ve thought such a thing could not be. “A new book by Seuss? Is it ’73?” Luckily, friends, this isn’t the case; there is a new book, and it looks like an ace. Found in the boxes of Geisel himself, his wife, Mrs. Geisel, put the book on a shelf. Then in 2013, rediscovered it was; nearly complete, with minimal fuzz. It was found and restored and finished, first rate. And it’s being released on July Twenty-Eight!
It’s a sequel of sorts to a book we all knew – The one about fishes, one red and two blue. The new book is called What Pet Should I Get and it stars a pair of siblings we’ve already met. They have trouble choosing an animal friend, and their options are many, from beginning to end.
BuzzFeed has obtained several pages to see, and you can look at them all for the low cost of “free.” The original pages lacked color and type, but the finished examples continue the hype. It’s believed that he wrote it, if assumptions are true, somewhere in between ’58 and ’62.
It’s amazing to see, after so many years, that Ted Geisel’s books can still have premieres. His artwork and words are still lovely and fun, and though written for kids, they delight everyone. It’s a wubbulous world, a dazzertal day! We’ve all got some new Dr. Seuss on the way.
Which Pet Should I Get will be out in a week, but check the gallery below for a sneak of a peek. And write in the comments which Seuss you adore. You can list two or three, or you can list sixty-four. Have a great day, you fabulous nerd, and remember ’twas Seuss who invented that word.
