With the Final Fantasy hype being at an all time high lately, Square Enix decided to collaborate with Japanese fashion designer Roen to release an official Final Fantasy XV clothing line. Now you too can look like you’re in an emo boyband!
The site including the Noctis and Prompto line went live today and it features the same leather goods seen in-game. But, you may want to hold off on making your fantasy a reality. The sweet Noctis jacket will set you back about $1,442. And that’s not even the most expensive item! Prompto’s jacket is over two-grand.
That’s a lot of cash to shell out just to look like your favorite boyband member! I get it, nice material is used and whatnot, but come on. Everything else is similarly overpriced, except for the socks–those are about $30. Apparently Roen designed in-game outfits, and was even working on the title back when it was known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
I’m not sure who these clothes are targeting, but they’re pretty sweet digs. However, that price tag is definitely not sweet, more like sour. I doubt even the cosplay community will want to jump on these.
Also, as strange as this collaboration may seem, it’s not the first time Square Enix has decided to join forces with a fashion label. Those really strange Louis Vuitton ads featuring Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII actually happened, and are still out there. This leads me to wonder whether the developer/publisher is looking for a future in the fashion business. It honestly wouldn’t be the strangest choice the company has made.
What do you think about this clothing line? Are you interested in buying any of these items? Is it too pricy? Let us know in the comments below! And check out all of our Final Fantasy XV news coverage.
