Happy 4/20! Vimeo’s HIGH MAINTENANCE is Heading to HBO

It’s StonerChristmas and that means gifts aplenty: like the news that HBO will be producing the next 6 episodes of Vimeo original series High Maintenance. Light it up and go bananas, kids.

If you’ve some how been remiss and missed the hijinks-laden comedy series, allow us to introduce you to its premise. Taking place in New York City, the show follows The Guy (a/k/a a weed deliveryman from Brooklyn) as he goes from one weirdo, rando client to the next, shopping his wares and putting up with their general nincompoopery. Each episode stands alone as a study on the characters that buy his weed.

It’s a unique premise and point of view for a series, all at once providing us with an immediate intimacy and context for the characters we meet, with plenty of room for judgement, drama, and random, surrealist tomfoolery to occur.

Created by husband and wife team Ben Sinclair (who stars as The Guy) and Katja Blichfeld, High Maintenance has managed an impressive following since its release on Vimeo, where its existed for five seasons since 2012. And it’s extra exciting for anyone who couldn’t shell out coin for the new episodes but already have access to HBO: in addition to presenting the new episodes, the it’s-not-TV network will also make the previous 19 episodes available later this year on HBO, HBO NOW, and HBO GO. It’s something you’re not going to want to puff, puff pass on oh hey look is that a giant cliiiiiiiiiii— *falls over the edge, echoing all the while*

What’s your favorite episode of High Maintenance? Let us hear it in the comments.
