Han Solo Stars in a Fan-Edited Drunk Driving PSA

Maybe this is what turned young Ben to the dark side. DUIs lead to damage. Damage leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate…leads to semi-cosplaying as your evil grandpa.

Seriously, though, expert YouTube editor oneminutegalactica (whose work we’ve featured before), nicely mashes up original trilogy Star Wars moment of Han Solo looking awkward at the Falcon controls with The Force Awakens scenes of the ship under Rey’s slightly reckless control. Complete with PSA-style narration, a cantina prologue, and the dramatic fade-to-black/crash sound so common to the real thing, the overall effect is that of a smashed smuggler, in more ways than one. We can just envision Han pointing his finger in a space cop’s face while saying, “It’s not my fault!”

Submitted by Nerdist reader “Ford Prefect,” who would presumably never hitch a ride in this Falcon, the video has us wondering: what does happen when Star Wars characters fly drunk? In a fictional universe so full of scum and villainy, somebody must have tried it. Our money’s on Dengar, since he had to have gotten some bad bumps to be wearing all those bandages. And Wuher was worried about serving droids.

Now that we think about it, Supreme Leader Snoke looks like he was hit by an out-of-control vehicle. This is starting to potentially explain a lot.

Who else in the Star Wars universe could use their own PSA? Maybe Jabba could do Wilford Brimley-style warnings about diabetes? Could Wicket the Ewok be the next Smokey the Bear? Only you can tell us…in comments, below.
