HALO 5: GUARDIANS Coming To Xbox One Fall 2015

The next non-Bungie and first Xbox One Halo title finally received its official name this morning. Players can ready their overshields for Halo 5: Guardians, due to release in the fall of 2015.  343 Industries is highly ambitious about their next outing, guaranteeing they have “the scope, features, and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade.”

Halo 5: Guardians is a bigger effort than Halo 4,” ensured the studio’s GM Bonnie Ross on Xbox Wire. “That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.”

343 is going all out on this one from a technical standpoint, working to make the game run consistently at 60 frames per second and padding its online multiplayer with dedicated servers. Now that’s what I call “a matchmaking in heaven.”

If you decide to assault me by way of plasma sword for that last statement, I’ll completely understand.
