Here’s Every Halloween Movie Coming to NETFLIX, HULU, and AMAZON This October

Night is closing in earlier and earlier, and it’s time to get spooky! Yup, it’s October, which basically means it’s Halloween and we can’t wait to curl up on our couches and watch some good old fashioned scary movies. Luckily for us, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon all have some choice creepy offerings, and we’ve collected them here for your viewing pleasure. From cult classic slashers to daringly dark documentaries, we’ve got ’em all. Grab your candy corn, pull up your creakiest chair, and get started on your Nerdoween movie playlist.

Netflix

Netflix is really leaning into a more atmospheric kind of scare with their choices this year. The clear stand out is Julia Ducournau’s fantastic coming of age cannibal movie, Raw. Continuing the creepy theme, they have the grim post apocalyptic greatness of The Survivalist. Netflix is also delivering on the fan faves with Cult of Chucky, which was previewed at Fright Fest to rave reviews and sees the return of Chucky’s IRL daughter, Fiona Dourif. Emo teens, rejoice, because Netflix is also bringing the bleak beauty of Donnie Darko back to the screen this Halloween season.

Hulu

Hulu is really bringing out the big guns with a solid selection of cult classics like Cabin Fever, Ghoulies, and Pet Semeatary, as well as a veritable smorgasbord of ’90s/’00s kaiju movies for that perfect monster marathon. Hulu is also adding some foreign femininity to Halloween with Alejandro Aja’s radical debut, High Tension. If you’ve not seen this twisted masterpiece of macabre it should go straight to the top of your watchlist. For a fun throwback, make sure you check out Robert Rodriguez’s teen sci-fi classic The Faculty.
