GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Adds New Members in SUPER BOWL Spot and New Poster

With the Super Bowl upon us, it’s fitting that we get a trailer for a superhero movie. Thanks to James Gunn’s YouTube page, we can now feast our eyes on the Big Game spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The 58-second trailer has almost all new footage, showing some new action scenes featuring our favorite rag-tag fivesome. Not only that but along with previously announced Mantis (Pom Klementieff), it looks like Yondu (Michael Rooker, sporting a longer mohawk that better resembles his comic-book counterpart) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) have officially joined the team. Whether it’s voluntary or reluctantly, I am looking forward to the hilarious banter that will undoubtedly be a result. Other than the casting of Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet (Star-Lord’s father), little is known about the plot of the movie. It will be interesting to see what brings this incarnation of the Guardians together.

If all the trailers we have seen so far are any indication, then Drax (Dave Bautista) is going to steal the show in this one. The end of this spot almost had me on the floor.

Oh, and in case the trailer wasn’t enough to get you ready for the movie, Disney has also released a new poster:

Looks like everyone gets their own mix tape this time around!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, also starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Glenn Close, and directed by James Gunn, hits theaters May 5, 2017.

So what do you think? Does Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 already look to outdo the original? Is Drax slowly but surely becoming your favorite MCU character? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
