Gorgeous Concept Art Brings SHERLOCK HOLMES Game to Life

It’s no secret that fans often take concept art for granted. While that isn’t necessarily a bad thing (sometimes we never get a chance to see it in the first place), it’s important to remember that the art is what shapes some of our favorite games. As I’m sure you’re well aware, the way a scene or character looks plays a huge part in our feelings about the game in which they live. That’s why it’s always a delight when we find concept art that’s truly breathtaking. The following artwork for Frogwares’ Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, which released recently and is set to hit the PS4 later this summer, is the perfect example.

Feast your eyes on the game’s fantastic art, created by Evgeniy Musienko, Andey Rosch and Anna Bulavina:

The artwork looks like something straight out of Assassin’s Creed–and is absolutely gorgeous. The character designs are also stunning. What’s most impressive, however, is the attention to detail in the rooms, with so much going on in a still frame. My favorite image has to be the one depicting the snowy woods, with crows flying around, as the sun rises (or sets) on the horizon.

As I mentioned previously, we take video game art for granted. We don’t take the time to realize just how talented these artists are, and how all their hard work goes into creating the virtual worlds we have grown to love. Excellent art direction and setting can be the difference between an engrossing experience, and one which is forgotten as soon as you hit the off button. Check out the rest of the images in the gallery below.

What do you guys think about the concept art? Are you interested in the Sherlock Holmes video games? Is there any other concept art that has blown you away?
