Gigantic 20th Anniversary Sale Hits PlayStation Store

20 years ago today, Sony Computer Entertainment sent the original PlayStation out into the wild. It launched alongside titles like Battle Arena Toshinden, Warhawk, and the first Rayman, and was competition for the Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn. In celebration of this historical date, the folks at PlayStation are hosting a massive sale on the PlayStation Store.

From the looks of the full list, which you can check out over on the PlayStation blog, the console getting the most discounts is the PS3. But, there are titles like Diablo III: Reaper of Souls–Ultimate Evil Edtition (marked down from $59.99 to $34.79), Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (marked down from $19.99 to $11.99) and Knack (Marked down from $39.99 to $20) that stand out on the PS4.

If you’ve yet to upgrade and are still looking for things to play on the PS3, classics like Dead Space, Dragon Age: Origins, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3, Bioshock, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, and Ni no Kuni all received significant discounts, slashing most of their prices in half and placing them all under $10.

Not to be left out, both the PS Vita and the PSP will feature cheaper games as well. Titles like Dragon’s Crown, Rainbow Moon, Sound Shapes, The Ratchet and Clank Collection, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and even Syphon Filter have been discounted.

There’s a mix of both significant and minuscule discounts woven throughout the batch. Though none of the PS4’s newer titles seem to have made the cut, the sale is a great way for fans to catch up on games they may have missed in the past couple of years.

Which titles (if any) are you planning on picking up? Let us know in the comments below.
