GHOSTBUSTERS Second International Trailer Is the Best Yet

“Why am I operating the untested nuclear laser?”

“You have the longest arms.”

Unfortunately for Kristen Wiig‘s Erin Gilbert, having long arms doesn’t seem to be much of a help when using a proton pack, because the team’s first real ghost catching efforts come up a juuuust a little bit short.

The second international trailer for the all-female led Ghostbusters was just released today, only days after the latest U.S. trailer was dropped, and this is the best one yet. Not only are there some new and extended looks at some of the film’s many ghosts (including some more scenes showing just how massive the film’s big bad Rowan is), but it seems to have a better understanding of the fact that this is a comedy with action, and not an action movie with some comedy. This isn’t a gritty horror thriller, it’s a Ghostbusters film, which wasn’t exactly clear with the first trailer.

Besides the scene where we see them try to use the proton pack, we also get a longer look at Cecily Strong‘s role in the movie, which seems to be reminiscent of William Atherton’s pain in the ass Walter Peck from the original 1984 Ghostbusters. Also, we get further evidence that Chris Hemsworth‘s secretary Kevin might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, though he does seem to understand branding better than the scientists he works for. I mean, when someone asks, “Who you gonna call?” it’s not great for business if the answer is “Conductors of the Metaphysical Examination.”

Directed by Paul Feig, the new Ghostbusters opens this summer, July 15th.
