New GHOSTBUSTERS LEGO Set Reveals Potential Spoiler

A few years ago, someone submitted a LEGO idea (then called Cuusoo) of the Ecto-1 and the four members of the team from the 1984 Ivan Reitman comedy-horror film Ghostbusters. Amazingly, it got enough votes and a set was actually made. (It’s really cool, by the way.) Now we live in a world where LEGO Ghostbusters are a main part of the Dimensions video game experience and more and more minifigs are available for that. It only seems natural, then, for LEGO to wanna get all over the reboot of the spectre-hunting comedy coming out this summer. They have, and it looks pretty damn awesome.

Ghostbusters-LEGO-Full

Ohhh yes. There’s a brand new Ecto-1 and Busters set coming out in conjunction with Paul Feig‘s highly anticipated new film which will pit Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones up against the forces of darkness, with their eye-candy secretary Chris Hemsworth in tow. All five are featured in the new set, along with an evil ghost or entity (you always need a bad guy for toy sets, it’s the rule) being called a Daemon on the package. That’s not all…

The next section will feature a possible spoiler, so skip the paragraph if you want to go in totally unspoilt.

The Chris Hemsworth minifig—Kevin is the character’s name—comes with reversible faces. This is pretty common nowadays so you can change expressions. However, the one Kevin face is him being smiley and helpful, and the other one is him possessed with red eyes and a snarl. They usually don’t make LEGO representations that aren’t featured in the movie, so we can extrapolate (it took really long, lemme tell ya) that Kevin’s gonna get possessed by that Daemon at some point. Maybe he’ll become the new Zuul they have to fight/exorcise in order to save their friend. Or maybe they just blow his head up, we have no idea.

A full gallery of the minifigs is below. The set will be available on July 1, which gives folks a good two weeks to play with it before Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15. We can’t wait! Maybe we’ll combine these with the Monster Hunters sets we have. They got the tools, they got the talent!
