When your television show is about to embark on its twentieth season the good times really start to add up. Like all those instances when Kenny suffered a horrible death, or Stan threw his guts up, and even the numerous times when Cartman relieved himself. With South Park‘s 20th season set to kick off this month on September 14th, the show has a sweet, but definitely NSFW “By The Numbers” look back at the first 267 episodes, to show just how often those four boys in that one little town have done truly awful, hilarious things.
This tribute video, shared by South Park Studios, was originally shown at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con during Matt Stone and Trey Parker‘s Hall H panel, and besides breaking down the statistics on important things like how many anal probes have taken place (6) or how many sex changes Mr. Garrison has undergone (2), it also has some fascinating numbers like how many characters have been on the show (1,714!) and how many celebrities have been featured/mocked (283).
Most surprising here is that Randy, one of the funniest characters in television history I will fight you on this if you don’t agree (speaking of which, there have been 200 fights on South Park), has only been arrested 18 times. I would have guess closer to a thousand.
For a controversial cartoon that started way back on August 17th, 1997, South Park has been shown in 130 countries in 30 different languages (going to need to hear German Butters please and thank you), but the best stat of all is that they aren’t done counting yet.
What;s your favorite South Park episode? What about your favorite character? We are counting on you to tell us in the comments below.
