GET OUT Cast and Jordan Peele Talk About Their Unique New Thriller

We all know Jordan Peele from his sketch comedy work and his acting, but Get Out is the first feature film where Peele sits in the writer’s and director’s chair. To say that he has knocked it out of the park is an understatement. Since it filled the slot of a secret midnight screening earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, Get Out has been winning praise from critics and audiences alike. The latest release from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions currently sits at a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with over 90 reviews being factored in.

The movie doesn’t fit nicely into one category–it is funny, thrilling, scary, and devastating all at once. I had the opportunity to talk to the stars of Get Out about what made it a truly special project in their eyes. Actors Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, and Bradley Whitford all agreed that the originality and quality of the screenplay were the things that they noticed first, and all of them had high praises for the man steering the ship.

Kaluuya described Peele as a genuine “film nerd,” explaining why his vision makes Get Out is such a unique cinematic experience. “It’s honest how he’s telling the story and what he’s saying,” Kaluuya said. We also sat down with the director, who told us firsthand what audiences can expect from Get Out, which he called, “A movie that comes from a really rare perspective.”

Get Out, one of my favorite movies of the year so far, is in theaters now.
