Gaming Daily: THE WALKING DEAD’s Clementine Becomes a Figure, Review Round-ups

Good Monday, ladies and gentlemen! We are back at it for another week of video game insanity. The good kind of insanity: like the gajillion games that are coming out over the course of the next few weeks. There was a bit of news that went down over the weekend, so first we’ll catch you up on that before diving head first into Bayonetta 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Clementine

The Walking Dead‘s Clementine is an action figure, and rightfully so.

The Walking Dead season premiere last night was all sorts of satisfying, sending the twitter-verse ablaze with spoilers and theories. This easily could have resulted in some other Walking Dead news being overshadowed: the announcement of Skybound’s Clementine figurine, straight from season two of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead. The figure was announced during New York Comic Con and will come in both clean and bloody versions when it releases sometime soon. Which one do you think you’ll pick up?

Bayonetta 2

Nintendo strikes gold with Bayonetta 2.

Long hair may not care, but the longest hair in videos games– that being Bayonetta’s of course– could not give a single f–k. Perhaps that’s the reason why we’re loving this game thus far, and why Bayonetta 2 has been receiving such glowing reviews. But don’t take my word for it, here’s a round-up of game scores from around the web:

Polygon: 7.5/10
Joystiq: 5/5
Gamespot: 10/10
IGN: 9.5/10
Eurogamer: 9/10

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel scores are also in, and strong.

If there was ever a reason to keep your PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles around, you might have just found it. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes everything we love about the franchise and buffs it up with Claptrap and Handsome Jack’s intriguing backstory, as well as transversal gameplay– a trend that we’re starting to see more often with first-person shooters. Our review is on the way soon, but in the meantime, here’s a look at some of the other criticisms from around the web:

Polygon: 7/10
Joystiq: 3.5/5
GamesRadar: 4/5
IGN: 8/10
The Escapist: 4/5

And that’s your Monday in gaming. Make sure to keep it locked for the latest and greatest in gaming, and to chat about our beloved medium, I’m only one tweet away: @Malik4play.
