Gaming Daily: Sony and Taco Bell Partner Up to Give Away Gold PS4s

As many of you may have witnessed, the Destiny: The Taken King hate has been extremely high this week, almost rivaling the hate that Destiny vanilla received around its launch. Without going into too much detail, I’ve actually enjoyed the bits that I’ve played. Sure, I still haven’t delved into the new systems, but there’s a noticeable increase in the quality of the story telling and mission layout. I’m still #TeamDinklebot, though. We’ll have a full review of all the madness going on with Guardians soon, so be on the lookout for that. Now, onto the job at hand. In today’s Gaming Daily: get your hands on a limited edition Gold PS4 bundle by eating Taco Bell, Dark Souls III’s launch month has been announced, peep a new Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection trailer, Persona 5 delayed until 2016, and new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain DLC has been announced.

Sony and Taco Bell will be partnering up to giving away some limited edition Gold PS4 bundles.

Sony and Taco Bell must be having some success with their collaborative promotions, because the two are once again partnering up for another giveaway bonanza. This time, you’ll be able to win a limited edition gold PS4 that will include a never before released golden console, a gold-encrusted controller, and a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. The package looks rather scrumptious, if I may say. All you need to do is purchase any Big Box from Taco Bell to get a code, granting you a chance to win the prize. The promotion will run from September 24 through November 4.

According to Sony, someone will be winning every 10 minutes. That’s approximately 6,000 consoles that will be given away. The controller that will be included is the same one that was recently announced at TGS for the Japanese audience.

This marks the third time in this current home console cycle that Sony and Taco Bell have teamed up (yes, excluding the Vita). The first time was the giveaway of the black launch console before it was even out in the wild. The second time they decided to go this route was for the launch of the glacier white Destiny bundle.

I actually know quite a few gents and ladies out there who have won these prizes, so it might be worth a Taco Bell run. That is, if your stomach can handle it…

dark souls 3

Dark Souls 3’s release month revealed.

From Software has certainly been busy. The team responsible for the Souls games, and more recently Bloodborne, has announced that Dark Souls 3 will be making its debut in April of next year. We recently got a glimpse of the horrors in store for this installment at Sony’s TGS press conference, and it’s looking great. According to our very own Samantha Sofka, the title is more of what Souls fans want. Praise the sun! This news also comes on the heels of the Bloodborne: The Old Hunters expansion reveal. From Software is killing it.

New Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta dated.

Hey, just because we have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on Uncharted 4, that doesn’t mean we won’t be getting some Nathan Drake love this year. Earlier this week, Naughty Dog hosted a livestream to show the world some gameplay from the upcoming Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, so the team decided to keep the momentum rolling by releasing a new trailer for the bundle.

Featuring a gang of highlights from the series, the trailer really does show how absolutely gorgeous games look in full high-definition and 60 frames per second. More importantly, there’s a little tidbit of news sneaked into the end of the trailer that should pique everyone’s interest. The Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta will be available exclusively to those who own the Nathan Drake Collection, from December 4 to December 13. You’ll need to be subscribed to PS Plus to partake in this, of course.

Yes, I’m not keen on having to wait longer for Uncharted 4, but hey, at least we’ll be getting our hands on some Uncharted this year. We always need to focus on the silver lining. Replaying these 3 gems is going to be a whole lot of fun.

Persona 5 delayed.

The inevitable has happened. Persona 5, unfortunately, has been delayed. Following an entire year of adamantly reassuring fans that the high school simulator would indeed hit retailers in 2015, Atlus finally announced that they wouldn’t be able to hit that target time. Instead, it will launch in the summer of 2016 in Japan. As much of a bummer as this news is, we had already guessed this would be the case. The years end is quickly approaching, and we had yet to see much of the title. I’m personally disappointed about the delay, even in a year filled to the brim with exciting games, this was the one I was most looking forward too. At least we get a glimpse at some gameplay in the video above. *sobs uncontrollably at the beauty*

Metal-Gear-Solid-V-DLC-09172015

New Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain DLC announced.

I’m no where near close to completing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Heck, I’ve just scratched the surface to be honest. I’d wager that most of you are on the same boat as myself. Do not worry though, soon you’ll be able to rock out in some new costumes straight out of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. At this year’s TGS, Konami announced that several costumes would be added, including the jungle fatigues, the sneaking suit, and the tuxedo.

Female leads will be able to use The Boss and Eva costumes. That’s not all though, even your trusty horse will get some new gear. There’s no dates or pricing known for this content yet, but we will keep you posted.

Some old-school gear is fun to have, despite it probably being inconsequential. Still, everything looks fly.
