Gaming Daily: Somebody Recreated JURASSIC PARK In Besiege

Guess what day it is? That’s right, our favorite day of the week is here and though we might not have a talking camel, we do have the next best thing- robotic dinosaurs. With both the weekend and the highly anticipated releases of  Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and The Order: 1886 only being a few days away, there’s no better time to catch up on news than today. In today’s Gaming Daily, the creative community of Besiege has recreated the glorious world of Jurassic Park, retailers may have found a new way of incentivizing customers to purchase the PS4, and Tim Schaffer defends his fellow colleague Peter Molyneux.

Jurassic Park was recreated in Besige.

YouTube user Deathtaco recreated the iconic world of Jurassic Park– well sort of. In the game Besiege, a Steam title that features the ability to create medieval siege engines to destroy huge fortresses and anybody who stands in their way, the player utilized the game’s physics based building mechanics to recreate our favorite dinos out of machines.

Bring on the mechanical dinosaurs!  In this short yet hilarious 30 second video, we enter the giant gates we once remembered, to find a close-up of a proud robotic dinosaur and finally its fall, all of this with the the intro theme we all know and love playing in the background.

Purchasing the alpha is available on Steam and the Besiege website.

PlayStationTV

Playstation TV being Offloaded.

Speaking of all things extinct, GameInformer is reporting that their parent company Gamestop will now be offering the Playstation TV to those that purchase Sony’s incredibly successful PS4. The site is also reporting that if rumors are true, more retailers such as Bestbuy will follow suit.  There is no real evidence to prove that at this point though.

This is great news for those that have yet to purchase the current-gen console and are in the market to finally get on board. Playstation Television allows users to play some, not all, Vita games on the big screen but maybe more appealing to most is the ability to stream games from the PS4 into another room.

It is no secret that all things Vita have been struggling and it seems like retailers are just trying to find a way to get rid of them at this point. Though it’s sad for the struggling machine, its definitey great news for consumers. It will be interesting to see if this move helps retailers sell more PS4 consoles and Vita games.

Tim Schafer Offers Broken Age Update and Defends Peter Molyneux

DoubleFine’s Time Schafer released a new documentary episode on YouTube earlier today in which he offers plenty of updates on how Broken Age is coming along and interestingly defends Peter Molyneux. The good news for those that are interested in playing Broken Age on PS4 and PS Vita is that the game is in full beta now with all dialogue written and voice over in both English and German already recorded. This gives DoubeFine plenty of time to work on bugs and make sure it is ready to go when it launches.

Now for the really juicy news (it’s high school all over again). Tim Schafer comes to the defense of Peter Molyneux who’s been the hot topic of conversation lately. Tim had this to say about all the negative things being said about Molyneaux, “I think it’s really unfortunate and unfair and I don’t think it’s healthy. Obviously, things did not go as expected on his game and because of that people are making some nasty accusations about Peter, and I can relate to that, believe it or not.”. Not averting blame, he goes on to say, “But I’m not saying developers like Peter and I shouldn’t be responsible and shouldn’t be accountable for deadlines, I’m just saying the reaction to recent events and the tone of that reaction are really way out of proportion to the seriousness of the events themselves.”

Whether you agree or disagree with Tim’s sentiment, he does come out of this looking mighty classy.

Well that’s another great Hump Day in the books everybody. For more news, reviews, and all things nerdy, keep it here on Nerdist.com.
