Report: Kingdom Hearts hops up onto Unreal Engine 4.

We found out during Tokyo Game Show that Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura had dropped off Final Fantasy XV to keep his efforts consolidated to one project, and today we’ve got a little more interesting news about the game also known as Sora’s next adventure. According to a recent Famitsu interview featuring Nomura, Square Enix has decided to switch Kingdom Hearts III development over to Unreal Engine 4.

“For various reasons, we’ve changed the game engine to Unreal Engine 4, because of which we’ve been facing rendering troubles. But Epic Games has been really cooperative and helpful, so we’re progressing just fine,” said Nomura on the matter. Still no word on when the game is coming to PS4 and Xbox One, but I imagine with this switch in engine, the development process might gain a little speed.

Destiny unlocks Iron Banner event.

If you’ve been working hard to get the top gear and farming to upgrade your belongings in Destiny, then you might want to spend some time in Crucible mode this month. Bungie has unlocked the Iron Banner arena, which is the mode that factors in player statistics across the board, enabling level and armor advantages. Players who obtain Iron Banner rank will be able to score exclusive legendary gear, so if you’re looking for the hottest items on the block, you don’t want to miss out on this month’s festivities.

NBAFaceScan

NBA 2K15’s glorious face scanning flubs.

There have been several sports games adding the ability to scan your own face onto a created character, and NBA 2K15 is the latest title hopping on this train. Of course, with this being 2K’s first shot at allowing folks to do this, it didn’t come without its fair share of issues, most of which are rather hilarious. This has gotten so laughable that someone even went so far as to create a Tumblr page for the debacle. Perhaps they would have been better off changing the name of this mode from “My Player” to “My Clicker.”
