Gaming Daily: FORZA HORIZON 2 Introduces FURIOUS 7 Cars

Aren’t Tuesdays just the best? You finally get through that Monday slump and as a reward the newest games of the week are released. This week in particular is filled with more From Software goodness with the release of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. Plus, after some weird streaming ad campaign and a few leaked images, Square Enix has finally announced a new Deus Ex game. It doesn’t get any better than this, or does it? In today’s Gaming Daily: Forza Horizon 2 gets furious with new car pack that includes Furious 7 cars, Grand Theft Auto V goes back to looking beautiful on current-gen consoles, and you can pay for your World of Warcraft subscription using an in game token.

Furious 7 car pack racing into Forza Horizon 2

Not too long ago, a stand alone expansion was released for the racer titled Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and the Furious that many really enjoyed. It had some Furious franchise cars and was a nice little tie in to the then not released film. The one complaint was that it was too short. Consider the problem solved as Microsoft has released a new Furious 7 car pack for Forza Horizon 2 for a measly $5. The first expansion was its own thing that didn’t require the full game, this new pack adds the high-octane cars into the full game. This allows you to bring the cars from the expansion into the full experience. Just in case you want to feel extra swaggy.

Furious 7 has been a great success since it released last week and it is smart move by Microsoft to ride the momentum to the finish line. Below is the list of the Fast and the Furious cars included in the pack.

  • 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
  • 1970 Plymouth Cuda
  • 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
  • 2014 Maserati Ghibli S
  • 1970 Plymouth Road Runner
  • 2015 Dodge Charger R/T
  • 2015 Dodge Challenger
  • 1998 Toyota Supra

The 1998 Toyota Supra is actually free for everyone so make sure to go and download that. It certainly is a slick selection of automobiles and if you are a fan of the franchise this addition is a no-brainer.

New patch makes Grand Theft Auto V beautiful again

Patches, patches, patches, don’t we just love them? Especially when they introduce new problems to already released games. Such was the case with the previous patch released for Grand Theft Auto V that caused graphical issues on the PS4 and Xbox One. Well, a new patch was released by Rockstar that now fixes this visual issue. Now you can go back to enjoying the beautiful city of Los Santos the way it was meant to look.

Patches creating other issues isn’t unheard of and at times it is a bit unfair to expect developers to know every little problem that can arise when trying to fix another issue in their game. Considering just how large game worlds are becoming, it is impossible to test every little thing out to check for bugs and glitches. It is an unfortunate repercussion from ever-growing virtual worlds that essentially become living breathing things.

At least Rockstar was relatively quick to fix the issue. Still having a strong community on board, you can bet this patch brought some smiles.

Subscription Tokens now live in World of Warcraft

Speaking of phenomenons, World of Warcraft has recently introduced an in game subscription token that allows you to pay your monthly subscription in-game currency. Players can now trade gold for this token that will cover one month of play time. You can also purchase the tokens with real money and then sell them in the game. Originally set at 30,000 gold in the auction house, gamers have stated that the price has gone up a bit.

If you have spent even a little bit of time with World of Warcraft, then you know that the in-game economy is no joke. Seriously, there should be college courses where the curriculum focuses on WoW currency. Though the gold prices seem to be increasing with no end in sight, the introduction of these tokens adds a new way to keep on playing if you can’t afford the subscription fee on a monthly basis. It probably won’t be a viable option every month but, hey, a “free” month here and there isn’t too bad.

How exactly this new addition will change the in-game economy has yet to be seen but it can have some huge implications if not handled properly. The Ssfe bet is on Blizzard knowing exactly what they are doing.

That wraps up another Tuesday. Don’t forget to speed your way down to the comments section below to let us know what your favorite Furious 7 car is or whether you are too busy playing Grand Theft Auto V to race around in a 1998 Toyota Supra.
