GAME OF THRONES Delayed by Winter, Alex Kingston on GILMORE GIRLS, and More

Winter’s never been my favorite season for all the obvious reasons. Escaping the cold snow was one reason I moved to Southern California. And now, winter needs to happen in Europe to make for a better setting for Game of Thrones. I’m sorry for everything I’ve said about you, winter. Read today’s TV-Cap to learn about how winter could delay Thrones, to find out more about Alex Kingston coming to Gilmore Girls, to see a bloody teaser for Ash vs Evil Dead, and more.

Winter Wins. Winter has arrived in Westeros, and that means the sky needs to be gray and gloomy to be fitting for the next season of Game of Thrones. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss appeared on the UFC Unfiltered podcast and mentioned season seven will probably debut a bit later than usual because they’re pushing production back “so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.” I usually don’t want more winter, but in this case… Get more scoop on the delay right this way.

Before Everything Changed. Remember what it was like when we first met the Stark children in the Game of Thrones pilot? They were so innocent. Revisit the past with Michael’s Game of Thrones Re-Throned series. He kicked it off with a look back at “Winter Is Coming.”

It’s Not Over. Starz has released a teaser for the second season of Ash vs Evil Dead. The quick look is light on story but heavy on blood and guts—and really, do you need more? Starz will likely have a full trailer to show off in a couple weeks at Comic-Con. [Nerdist]

Early National City Trip. The CW has scored season two of Supergirl and to help viewers prepare for the addition to their lineup, they’ll broadcast the first season. Season one of Supergirl aired on CBS, but CW will show the series beginning on August 1. [Deadline]

So Much Yes. Alex Kingston made an appearance at Florida Supercon recently and during a Q&A (above) she talked about her recent projects such as Doctor Who, Arrow, and Gilmore Girls. Wait, what? As it turns out, Kingston played a role in Netflix’s revival of the series. She said, “I know they’ve released the information, but I don’t know how much we’re allowed to talk about. I play a sort of very eccentric character in a couple of those episodes.” Kingston would make an amazing resident of Stars Hollow! You can hear her Gilmore Girls comments are at 2:28 minutes in. Detect More Episodes. Just a quick but important update for Angie Tribeca fans: TBS has renewed the Rashida Jones-led comedy for another 10 episode season. It will return with new episodes in 2017. [Deadline]

Visit Gotham City. Jamie Chung has joined the Gotham cast for season three, and if you’re itching to see her as Valerie Vale, Coming Soon has a gallery of pictures taken on set. The images feature Chung and Ben McKenzie’s Detective Gordon. You can view ’em right this way.

Trying to Make It. Donald Glover is returning to television this fall with FX’s Atlanta. He created the series about a young music manager in Atlanta trying to make it. Glover stars in the show, too, because of course he does. FX has released a new teaser, and it’s all about waking up and keeping moving. The show debuts on September 6. [Slashfilm]

Go Back in Time. Nickelodeon is truly embracing the retro at Comic-Con this year. Besides their booth focused on titles from the ’90s and early ’00s, they’re also bringing a one night special event hosted by Marc Summers. Yep, Double Dare is coming to San Diego! I cannot wait to see social media coverage of the show on July 22. [Nerdist]
