DOUBLE DARE to Return for One Night at San Diego Comic-Con

Quickly! Do you want to go to San Diego or take the physical challenge? Actually, don’t bother answering, because amazingly you don’t have to actually choose, since Nickelodeon will be bringing back their most famous game show ever at this year’s Comic-Con International. That’s right—a one-night-only return of Double Dare.

Entertaimment Weekly reported that the show’s host, Marc Summers, will be back leading the special event on the night of July 22 as part of the celebration of the show’s 30th anniversary (the show debuted in 1986 and ran until 1993).

We told you last week about all of the great events that Nickelodeon and The Splat have planned for their booth at San Diego Comic-Con, in celebration of the classic Nick shows from the 1990s and 2000s. This ordeal happens to include photo opportunities with Double Dare‘s giant, green gunk-filled nose. It will be easy for them to just slide it over to the set, so a whole new generation of contestants can wonder if they forgot to put a flag inside of it or not.

If you can’t make it out to San Diego, you will be able to watch the brief rebirth of Double Dare live on The Splat’s Facebook page starting at 9:30 PST. In addition, starting on July 25, Summers will begin a week of hosting Double Dare specials on TeenNick.

Fellow children of the ’90s, this is our chance to rectify the greatest missed opportunity of our childhoods: getting slimed. I dare you to head out there and try to be a contestant. I double dare you, even if you have to walk there. Heck, that’s great preparation for any physical challenges you’ll have to face.

What was your favorite challenge on Double Dare? Tell us in the comments below.
